Galaxy Macau helps guests “Fuel up for Success” with energy boosting menu by revered herbalist and award-wining chef

As part of the resort’s “FUNtastic Winter Wishes Come True” campaign packed with a fun-filled collection of dining and entertainment experiences as well as plenty of unmissable privileges, culinary exploaration in winter will take on a new dimension at Galaxy Macau with its newly unveiled menu themed on “Fuel Up for Success” to help guests boost their energy levels.
Inspired by the long history of traditional chinese medicine, the new menu follows the principles of yin and yang to help the body achieve harmony. Each dish is meticulously prepared with high-quality medicinal ingredients contributing to the menu’s potent wellness benefits. Dishes are tasty and nourishing on their own, but put together as a set they form a powerful menu to replenish energy. Diners will savor delicious dishes and reap the benefits of 5,000 years of medical wisdom by ordering the 6 or 8-course set menu at Fook Lam Moon, or a la carte at Pak Loh Chiu Chow Restaurant, The Noodle Kitchen and Lugang Café from now till February 8th, 2020.
The delectable and highly nutritious menu was jointly created by renowned Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner Dr.Cheong Weng Heng and Galaxy Macau’s acclaimed Chinese Master Chef Simon Tho. Dr. Cheong is a graduate of the highly respected Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has earned an excellent reputation in his field. He now practices medicine in Macau and is the private doctor of notable Chinese dignitaries. Chef Tho is a master of Chinese and Asian cuisines with in-depth culinary knowledge and boundless creativity, as well as an award-winning chef with a culinary career that spans nearly 30 years and a fair share of time in the kitchens of the most distinguished five-star hotels.
“An energy boosting diet can do wonders to revitalize the body and mind,” said Dr. Cheong, “Many traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients can be used as constituents to prepare nourishing dishes. Chef Tho and I worked closely to combine - medicinal ingredients with culinary techniques and infuse a variety of wellness benefits into the menu, enabling guests to feel energized and rejuvenated with those wholesome dishes.”
Chef Tho added, “The well-being menu has been created for our prestigious guests who lead busy lives and don’t always have time to give much thought to their diet. This menu offers a tasty, seasonal, energy-boosting option, so guests can enjoy a wonderful meal with the knowledge that they are making a smart choice for their health.”
Featured dishes include: Chilled Drunken Chicken with American Ginseng and Chicken Essence Jelly, to boost circulation and “Qi”.Oyster, which is known to be beneficial to blood circulation and for the skin, is used in the Grilled Japanese Pearl Oyster with Cumin, Ginger and Garlic. Abalone, used in the Stewed Abalone and Japanese Sea Cucumber with Snow Chrysanthemum and Tomato, can “clear heat” in the liver and improve vision. The dish Slow Cooked Lamb Shank with Chinese Yam and Angelica Sinensis, which brings out the golden trio of lamb, ginger and angelica, can invigorate “Yang” and prevent stiff joints in cold weather. There are other ingredient combinations as well based on ancient Chinese remedies to nourish and replenish the body.
